My own private Vent Line

Avi listens to talk radio. There is a phone line were people in Amarillo can call and vent about anything. I don't have much time to actually call but I really need to vent.

Yesterday was picture day at Lamar. Avi spent a good part of the morning helping Zee get dressed in his freshly pressed suit. Oh! Avi also went to get his hair cut the day before.

I love Western Photo cuz their prices are reasonable, so this year I splurged on the larger package.

So I call Avi yesterday morning and he said he asked the teachers when the pictures would be taken, they said for his grade, AFTER P.E.

Ok, this in't Junior High or High School where kids have locker rooms to change into P.E. clothes. So needless to say, we were a little upset.

Mom says that's what I get for putting him in public school. I think our society has simply lost common sense. It's a rare and precious thing to actually use your brain.

The moral of my rant: Skip/Postpone P.E. for one freakin' day, PICTURE DAY!

OK I feel better. Thanks for listening.

  1. I agree...no sense?? Why not do it FIRST thing in the morning?? I love the vent line. Maybe we should create a "vent blog"...let our family have access and we vent on the blog!!!

  2. I'm up for the vent line/blog too. As for picture day speaking as an "insider" they usually do try to do them before P.E. but it all depends on what time P.E. is because they all have P.E. sometime. I know I always took the time to make sure hair was smoothed, shirt was tucked in, collar straight, etc. but that is probably just me. Also the photographers, especially Western Photo are usually pretty good about fixing things up. I'm sure it will be just fine and even if not perfect, that would be a good representation of life.

  3. I didn't say it happened because you put him in school, but that it was funny how it works from one generation to the next.

I had the same thing happen to me in public school. Teachers in public school are so busy that making sure your kid looks ok is hard. I had one teacher who CUT my hair in class because my mother had really messed up my bangs. I was mortified, but since growing up realized it was her way of "helping" me. Where else would she have done it?

Oh well, you have weird things happen in life and some things you just don't have control of. School pictures are like that.

    Fuzzy pickle.

    Love mom
