Nerd Tree

Yes, my kids are nerds. They both have their favorite sites. I find it ironic that they are so computer savvy when I had just started using computers when I was 11 or 12. They both have computer classes at their respective schools.

They love to blog. They love to watch You Tube videos (prescreened by Eema and Abba of course).

I just think it's cool that my 7 year old and my 3 year old are so interested in one my favorite things. Who could ask for anything more?

Sunday Baking

I thought I'd try and bake some goodies to try and sell to my friends. Artisan bread that is home made! Come on, it'll be sold before I clock in. At least I hope so. I made these cinnamon rolls after the kids gave me their big brown eyes and told me how sad they were that the bread I just baked were not theirs. And as you can see, we've already enjoyed our first rolls. They were great!

The first two loaves are Braided Herb Bread with rosemary leaves. Salty and savory.

The second two loaves are whole wheat braids. These are sweet and rustic.

My Monkeys

I took these pictures last spring and I just had to post them. Children are so much like monkeys. Loud, active creatures that are always looking for the next tree to climb.

Monkeys are intelligent and mischievous. Tzipi is always trying to sneak candy and take Zee's favorite toys. Zee is always doing whatever he can to keep from wearing clothes and sits in the strangest places.

Zee's room is decorated with monkeys and he loves to read books about monkeys.

They are always ready for the next fun event, birthday party, or adventure at Wal-mart (when I let them tag along). We never go out to eat any more, so anything extra we do at home goes a long way.

Tzipi loves to cook and Zee loves to play with me on the computer.

March should be interesting. We have ordered a disconnect for our satellite tv. We will have to work a little harder to keep the monkeys happy. Once it gets warmer, it will be easier. I hope to find a swing set for the monkeys this spring. They both love to be outside, so it shouldn't be too hard. I also hope to encourage the monkeys to embrace the piano this summer. Well the monkeys are restless so I need to go back to the zoo!

My Scouts

This year has been busy for scouts and it's only February. There have been a lot of leaders meetings and the Blue and Gold is coming up soon. Avi is Zee's Pack Leader. Pack 74. I've sewn a bunch of patches already. Zee did a really great job selling popcorn during the fall. (With a lot of help from Dad)

The boys had a pine wood derby last weekend. Azariah had the flu so he missed out.

Our nephews went to the derby and had fun.

Blake and Ethan and Zane are here showing off their wonderful cars and trucks.

My Current Knitting Project

I'm knitting a little purse for Tzipporah. I thought it might be interesting to blog the progress. I am doing the stockinette stitch in three stages. Two squares and one long strip as the sides and purse strap. I cast on 20 stitches and knit 20 rows. I'm going to repeat that for the other side.

With this stitch there is a right side and wrong side. This is the right side.

And the next pic is the wrong side. It's the stitch when I purl.

I have knitting class this Tuesday at the East Branch library.

I'll update as soon as I get the next part finished.

Lemme Sit!

No matter what day it is, Zippy will demand to help in the kitchen by chirping, Lemme sit. Lemme Sit, Lemme Sit, Lemme Sit, Lemme Sit... until you let her sit.

So this is today after I made cinnamon rolls. She's so cute. Just had to post.
